Nathaniel Lovejoy was born on 29 May 1667 in Andover. [1] He died on 7 March 1752, age 84, in Andover. [2] He married Dorothy Hoyt on 21 March 1693/4 in Andover. Nathaniel married second Elizabeth Wilson, possibly the widow of William Wilson. [3] This Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Andrews (link to Cummings Family website).
Dorothy Hoyt was born on 29 January 1673/[4?] in Amesbury. [4] Dorothy, the wife of Nathaniel, died on 17 May 1714, age about 40, in Andover. [2]
Children of Nathaniel Lovejoy and Dorothy Hoyt:
i. Dorothy Lovejoy was born on 24 May 1697 in Andover. [1] She married Solomon Martin on 25 December 1722 in Andover. [5] Solomon, the son of Samuel and Abigail (Norton) Martin, died on 4 April 1754. [6]
ii. Ensign Nathaniel Lovejoy was born on 7 February 1698/9 in Andover. [1] He died "in an apoplectic fit" on 25 August 1769, age 69 and six months, in Andover. [2] He married Elizabeth Swan of Hampton at Hampton. [7] She was born in 1709/10 in Haverhill and died on 21 June 1770. [7]
iii. Dorcas Lovejoy (twin) was born in 1701 in Andover. She married John Shackford.
iv. Timothy Lovejoy (twin) was born in 1701 in Andover. [7] He married Mary Curnell on 20 August 1730 in Andover. [7]
v. Deborah Lovejoy was born in 1703? in Andover. [1] She married John Bailey on 13 December 1732. [8] John, the son of Joseph and Abigail Bailey, was born on 26 November 1691 in Bradford and died about 1750 in Metheun. [8]
vi. Ezekiel Lovejoy was born in 1705? in Andover. [1] He died on 13 April 1742 in Andover. [2] He married Elizabeth Wilson on 9 January 1727/8 in Andover. [5]
vii. Daniel Lovejoy was born in 1710 in Andover. [1] He married Mary Holt on 29 October 1745. [7] She was born on 4 July 1722. [7]
